History unfolded as events spiralled, bringing all that was familiar and known abruptly into conflict. For forty tumultuous days from 14 February to 25 March 2011, in a series of incidents, the peace and harmony, the multi-ethnicity, inclusiveness and openness that once symbolised the island nation of Bahrain, were tested. Centuries-old relationships shared by Bahrainis as brothers, neighbours and friends were thrown into uncertainty.
Captured and documented through the camera lens, the images in this evocative photo essay illustrate in detail, the heartache and anguish that the Kingdom of Bahrain underwent through this turbulent period.
Miracle conceptualized and collated images and all content from various sources, local as well as renowned international archives and published the book in 2012 and launched at the Frankfurt Book fair.
